An icon of the Stetson brand for more than 100 years, “The Last Drop from His Stetson,” endures as a symbol of the American cowboy’s values of resourcefulness, compassion and humility. We’ve partnered with renowned American blanket manufacturer Pendleton to reimagine Lon Megargee’s plainspoken masterwork as a special-edition throw blanket.

The original painting, which depicts a kindly cowboy kneeling to give his horse a drink of water from his upturned hat, has been transformed into a twin-size throw, using a three-color jacquard weaving technique and Pendleton’s legendary woolen looms. The wool face of the blanket is left unnapped for a sharp, crisp pattern, and cotton has been added to the warp for extra stability, along with a felt-bound edge. The result is a throw with rich color and heirloom quality—a bold centerpiece for any room.

Woven at Pendleton’s Oregon mill, before being finished at Pendleton’s mill in Washougal, Washington, each blanket is individually packaged in a Beaver State box and includes a “Last Drop from His Stetson” commemorative story card and custom sewn-on patch.

THE STETSON STANDARD

Since 1865

True Heritage

Our story begins in the 1860s, when John B. Stetson was prospecting for gold in the Colorado Rockies and, struck by a sudden rainstorm, quickly fashioned a felt hat for protection. The modern cowboy hat was born, and more than a century and a half later, John B.’s pioneering legacy and commitment to quality live on in everything we make.

Crafted to last

Legendary Quality

From start to finish, our signature hats are made by hand in Texas, using only the finest materials and time-tested techniques, often utilizing the same machinery we’ve been using for decades. The result? The world’s most legendary hats, designed for the long haul and crafted to be passed on from one generation to the next.

Worn the world over

Singular Style

Our hats are iconic, and yet, each is truly unique—because no two Stetsons are ever worn the same way. Put one on, and you’re joining a community of true individuals unified in their appreciation of enduring quality and style that transcends trend.

The blanket was beautiful with such detail. The colors were vibrant and this is a “classic”. I can’t believe however that more care was not given to the box it was shipped in. This was suppose to be a gift and the box came crushed and tore on one end. Customer service wasn’t very helpful trying to blame it on the shipper. All in all though the blanket itself is a great purchase.

We are fans of Stetson hats & the art of Lon Megargee so the investment in a quality blanket that was commissioned by Stetson to celebrate the 100th anniversary of THE LAST DROP FROM HIS STETSON was a great opportunity to celebrate with Stetson, Lon’s of Hermosa (our favorite bar & restaurant in AZ) and Pendelton who makes world class blankets. Well worth the $375… it’s beautiful.

I purchased the blanket for my wife for her Christmas gift. She loves the blanket and we use the blanket on our bed during these colder months of winter. Warm blanket and comfortable to boot!

It's difficult to state how much I enjoy an American-made products, but having worn a Stetson hat in my personal life, it seemed like a simple leap to know that a commemorative blanket would only be of the highest quality and it is. This Throw-Blanket is absolutely beautiful, and of the highest quality, but more importantly, adheres to an American-ideal: an invitation to compassion in a living room by having an art piece be functional and storytelling-with-purpose. I highly recommend this limited edition because its a blanket I plan to take to every camping trip I'm planning, and thus, a focal point to makes memories with forever since.
