Fits perfect. Wife loves it.
The hat comes in a huge protective box (necessary with package handling these days) and is perfect for my needs in a hat: packs well, perks up and provides protection for my head and ears; looks good, too.
It was great to explore and find this comfortable, good looking outdoor hat.

This hat is sweet. I can wear it hiking. I can wear it fishing. I can wear it out and about with nice clothes if I want.
First purchased the Green explorer and received multiple complements. The hat is very comfortable and is warm a cozy as the weather is currently cooler. I have no experience yet in warmer weather but expect it would breath well. Have now procured the brown as well. My refined and extremely intelligent nephew has repeatedly used the word "dapper"!
Overall I think the material of this hat is great. I like that it is crushable and can withstand the weather. I feel the crown is too high

I got this hat in green as a Christmas present. I liked the hat myself. It is warm and comfortable to wear all day. What surprised me was how many other people would come up to me and tell me how much they like the look of this hat. I literally have gotten 1 to 3 comments on this hat every week since I got it. I have several other Stetson hats but none of them have gotten as many, "I really like that hat." As this one.
My wife bought me a more expensive Stetson and as nice as it was I wasn't comfortable wearing it outside to work in. I returned it and ordered the Explorer in green and I have to say, it's been the best hat yet. I wear it daily in all kinds of weather including rain and have never had an issue with it. The fit is good but like most brimmed hats it won't stay put in windy conditions so I've had to chase it down a couple of times. I watched a video on how to install a chin strap so I may give that a go but haven't decided yet, maybe it's not such a big deal. Anyway I'm ready to buy a brown one now. If you're looking for a hat that keeps your head warm and dry I definitely recommend the Explorer. Just be ready to get lots of compliments from total strangers.
The color, feeling, and construction all seem fantastic. I measure my head and I fit right in at a medium by thier size chart. So I bought a medium and it was so small it wouldn't fit my head at all.
Have had this hat for 3 years now. It's been along on an intense trip to Utah, keeps the sun out. I work outside a lot in the summers and this is my go-to hat. It's been a water jug, a frisbee, a photo prop, a fire fanning device, withstood rainstorms while out fishing the river, was with me when I got dive bombed by a red tailed hawk, been there doing film photography in Wisconsin wilderness. This hat is a good friend.
Purchased one of the green ones several years ago to wear as a Scoutmasters hat in lieu of the campaign hat. I purchased it in person so sizing was easy. The color of the hat is darker than in most of the pictures. The picture with the guy fishing is accurate for color. It has been a wonderful hat. I wear it 1-2 times a week plus when we go camping and it has held up well over the last several years.
I agree with the other reviewer that the Loden Mix is a much deeper green than it looks in the pictures (except for the one with the fisherman).
I ordered the Stetson Explorer Hat in grey and I really like it! It looks like something in between a typical fedora and a cowboy hat which is exactly what I wanted. Im not a cowboy and I find a lot of regular fedoras to be tacky when you put them on. Shipping was relatively quick, the only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is that the brim came slightly crooked. It falls slightly and is a but more floppy in the one area. Its only noticeable if youre looking closely at it though, so im not concerned. All in all l I really like it and would buy from these guys again if I see something else I want.
Couldn't be more satisfied. Don't agree about the color or sizing being off, the medium fits appropriately and the color is indeed subtle.. under incandescent low lighting the green looks slightly grey but under sunlight and florescence the green really pops out. Causal, rugged and sharp all at once..
Ordered this hat in color, 'Loden'. Based on the photos, I thought it was going to be sort of a teal color, but I'd call it forest green - no blue at all. Also, my size was right on the edge between small and medium so I ordered a size down per the recommendation of the other review. Hat was tiny, so I'd say it runs small, not large. Otherwise hat seems great.
Couldn' t wait for this to come. However i'm disappointed to say it is too large. Well made but too big. Getting a size down.
I bought this hat 8 years ago and wear it everywhere. It looks good and is rugged. It is also the hat I wear in the rain.
Yes, it's the hat you want. I have the gray and brown and they are my most worn hats. Comfortable headband that keeps the hat on my head when long boarding. Wide brim keeps the sun out of my face and the style fits casual, professional, and outdoor attire. Just stuff it in my bag when I need to wear my helmet and flick it back out and it returns to its original state.
